For the Birth Workers Who Want to Keep Learning
Practical, evidence-informed resources for doulas and birth workers supporting families through pregnancy, birth and postpartum.
There are so many moments in birth work where you find yourself thinking:
“I know this isn’t mine to diagnose… but I want to understand what I’m looking at.”
Or:
“I wish someone had explained this part of postpartum recovery to me.”
This space is for those moments.
I’m Yaz, a Registered Nurse and doula with experience in Labour & Delivery, postpartum nursing and community birth support as a doula.
I created this email list to share the kind of practical information I think is genuinely useful when you’re actually working with families.
This isn’t meant to turn doulas into clinicians, nor to blur scope. Instead, it’s meant to to help birth workers better understand pregnancy, birth and postpartum recovery so they can support their clients confidently, recognize when something deserves another set of eyes, and know when it’s time to refer.
What I’ll Be Sharing
Inside these emails, you can expect things like:
The Doula’s Postpartum Red Flag Cheat Sheet
Uncommon things you may see in a C-section recovery
answers to common questions that come up with birth & postpartum clients
navigating the line between doula support and clinical care
lessons and observations from my experience in both nursing and doula work
evidence, research and maternity-care topics worth talking about
Think of it as continuing education over coffee! It will be practical, approachable and relevant to the work you’re already doing.
