Birth Doula Support Packages

While my practice is centred around home and birth centre births, I also work with select families planning a low-intervention hospital birth when our philosophy of care aligns.

All packages include on-call birth support from 37 weeks, continuous labour & birth support, and calm presence through transitions.

Disclaimer: Doula services are provided independently and are not part of my role as a Registered Nurse.
When attending births in a doula capacity, I do not provide medical care or act as a healthcare provider. My role is emotional, physical, and informational support, unless there is a medical emergency.

What a Prenatal Session Can Look Like

Prenatal sessions are a chance for us to slow down, connect, and make sure you feel supported before birth.

Depending on what you need, we may spend our time talking through your birth preferences, answering questions, working through doubts or fears, and planning the logistics of when and how to reach me when labour begins.

These visits are also a chance for me to get to know you, your partner, and the kind of support that helps you feel safest. Sometimes that looks like chatting over tea. Sometimes it looks like a foot massage, gentle bodywork, or kinesio taping for an achy back or heavy belly.

The goal is not to create a perfect plan. It’s to help you feel more informed, more grounded, and more cared for as you get closer to meeting your baby.

What Birth Support Can Look Like

Birth support is continuous, steady presence through labour, birth, and the first moments after your baby arrives.

Sometimes that looks like helping you find more comfortable positions, using massage or counter-pressure, setting up the room, dimming the lights, offering water, reminding you to eat, or helping your partner know how to support you.

Sometimes it looks like talking through what’s happening, helping you understand your options, supporting your birth preferences, and creating space for questions when decisions need to be made.

Sometimes it looks like staying close, holding your hand, breathing with you, and reminding you that you are safe, capable, and not alone.

And sometimes it looks like taking a step back while staying close enough to notice when you want me nearby again.

The kind of support you need may change throughout labour. You might want hands-on support in one moment, quiet reassurance in another, more space during another, and then someone right beside you again. Whatever kind of support feels most supportive to you in that moment is what I hope to offer.

The goal is not to control birth or promise a certain outcome. It’s to help you feel informed, supported, and deeply cared for as you move through one of the biggest moments of your life.

What a Postpartum Visit Can Look Like

Postpartum visits are shaped around what you need most that day.

Sometimes that looks like checking in on your recovery, talking through your birth, answering questions, or helping with breastfeeding and newborn care.

Sometimes it looks like gentle bodywork, core support taping, a warm meal or snack, holding the baby so you can shower, rest, eat, or simply have a moment to yourself.

These visits are not about hosting me or having everything together before I arrive. They are meant to feel supportive, practical, and calming — like someone is coming in to tend to you while you tend to your baby.

The goal is to leave you feeling more cared for, more grounded, and less alone in the early weeks of motherhood.

Long Labour & Rest Policy

My package fee includes up to 18 hours of continuous labour support.

If labour extends beyond this time, I may need to take a 4-hour rest period in order to return with the energy, clarity, and presence you deserve.

During this time, we will choose together the option that feels most supportive:

  • I may rest in your home (if space allows)

  • I may go home to rest

  • Or, if available and agreed upon, a backup doula may step in

This boundary allows me to offer steady, compassionate care while honouring the physical realities of long labours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do you primarily support home, birth centre, and select hospital births?

My practice is centred around supporting families who are hoping for a physiologic, low-intervention birth experience. For many, that means planning a home or birth centre birth, where the environment naturally supports freedom of movement, informed decision-making, and continuity of care.

That said, I also work with a limited number of hospital clients whose birth goals and philosophy align with my approach. Some families choose the hospital because of previous birth experiences, medical considerations, or simply because it's where they feel safest. A hospital birth can still be deeply empowering and physiologic with the right support and a collaborative care team.

Rather than focusing on the place of birth, I focus on supporting families who value evidence-informed care, informed consent, and minimizing unnecessary interventions whenever it is safe to do so.

Because I intentionally keep my client load small, I accept hospital births on a case-by-case basis to ensure we're a good fit and that I can provide the level of individualized, hands-on support each family deserves.

What if I need to transfer to hospital?

If a transfer becomes necessary, I will continue to support you in the hospital setting, offering calm presence and continuity during the transition.

Is this covered by insurance?

Doula services are not typically covered by OHIP.
Some extended health plans may offer partial reimbursement for doula or private nursing services. Please check directly with your provider to see what your policy includes.

Do you replace my midwife or doctor?

No. I do not provide medical care, diagnose, or make clinical decisions.
Your midwife or physician remains your primary care provider. My role is to support you emotionally, physically, and informationally.

Can my partner still be involved?

Absolutely.
I support both of you — offering guidance, reassurance, and practical ways your partner can participate with confidence.

When should I book?

Availability is limited so that I can remain fully present for each client. The earlier you reach out, the more likely you are to secure a spot in my on-call calendar.

Most families connect between 20–30 weeks of pregnancy, but you’re always welcome to reach out at any stage to see if I have availability.

What areas do you serve?

Currently serving the GTA and surrounding areas.
Travel fees may apply outside of this range.

What makes your care different?

I bring together clinical knowledge from my work as a postpartum and labour & delivery registered nurse, my own lived experience of pregnancy and birth, and deep relational presence.

This is care that honours not only outcomes, but experience.

I deeply believe that “healthy baby, healthy mom” is the bare minimum, and that your labour and birth deserve to honour your body, your choices, your voice, and your emotional wellbeing.

Because how you are treated matters.
And how you feel in your birth will stay with you.
